The Special Management and Maintenance Commission of Shanghai Civil Engineering Association Established

On June 23, with the instruction of Shanghai Civil Engineering Association, the Special Management and Maintenance Commission of Shanghai Civil Engineering Association was established in Shanghai lead by STEC and the other leading businesses, universities and colleges, and the research institutes in area of design and running of urban infrastructure and smart city management.


The Management and Maintenance Commission will be affiliated to the municipal facilities maintenance branch of STEC and it aims at enhancing effective management and maintenance of the municipal infrastructure with the other leading businesses and team of experts. At the inauguration, Dai Zhenyu, the party committee secretary, the board director, and the general manager of the municipal facilities maintenance branch of STEC is elected as the Chief of the Commission members. In the meantime, 8 members of the leaders and 35 members of the special commission were elected.


The fast development of the municipal infrastructures plays an essential part in the social and economic development of the city and enhancing the urban functions. However, with the city development and the increasing demand of public transportation, many academic and technical problems arise, such as the renewal of the old facilities, the inferior risk control of facility running and delicate management, and the inadequate application of information and technology, which should be summarized, studied and explored.


As an academic group in municipal facilities running and maintenance, the special commission will gather together all the experts and scholars of technology, education, and businesses in the same area to give full play of their intelligence and wisdom. It will be significant to promote the running and maintenance of the municipal infrastructure, to popularize and apply the new technology and new idea, and to enhance the team work of businesses, educational institutions and research institutes.
