STEC Wins the tender for the 130-kilometer energy transmission and distribution project in Shanghai, the energy “lifeline” of the city
2017-10
A few days ago, STEC Shanghai Gas Engineering Design & Research Co., Ltd. won the tender for Shanghai Jinhong Aviation Oil Pipeline Project and “the Natural Gas Pipeline of Shanghai Backbone Natural Gas Network No. Five Ditch LNG Station—Lingang Section”, and will build an aviation oil plus natural gas transmission and distribution pipeline, with a total length of 126.55 kilometers.
Upon completion, the projects whose tenders have been won will regulate peak loads in an emergency and ensure Shanghai’s stable supply of energy. By then they will be closely related to residents’ gas supply as well as the aviation oil used by Airbus A380.
Shanghai Jinghong Aviation Oil Pipeline Project, the first aviation oil transmission and distribution project designed by STEC, will connect the aviation oil tank area of SINOPEC Shanghai Petrochemical Company Limited to the oil depot of Shanghai Hongqiao Airport, to meet the large demand for oil of the flights and airplanes at Hongqiao Airport and Pudong Airport.
With the economic development of Shanghai, the continuous increase in demands for natural gas poses a new challenge for the transmission and distribution capability of pipeline networks and the safety of gas supply. “Natural Gas Pipeline of Shanghai Backbone Natural Gas Network No. Five Ditch LNG Station—Lingang Section”, the project for which STEC Shanghai Gas Engineering Design & Research Co., Ltd. won the tender, starts from No. Five Ditch LNG Station and ends at the first station of Lingang, the total length of natural gas pipeline at around 54.35 kilometers, the design pressure of mainline pipeline at 6.0Mpa and the pipe diameter at DN800, design pressure of branch pipeline at 6.0Mpa and the pipe diameter at DN500.
Now STEC has started the design of the two “lifelines”. The earliest time for completion of the design of Jinhong aviation oil pipeline and No. Five Ditch LNG Station—Lingang Section of natural gas pipeline project is expected to be at the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018, and the two projects are expected to be put into operation in 2018 and 2020. The two deeply buried underground pipelines will ensure steady and safe oil/gas supply to thousands of flights and 3 million citizens.
